09After 1989 the Bishop’s Office in Nitra received many requests from believers asking for a chapel to be built on Živčáková.

In 1992 the Bishop’s Office in Nitra approved the requests and during the following year a Chapel of Virgin Mary, the Queen of Heaven was built on Živčáková Hill.

The design was prepared by Ing. arch. Marián Goč.

Since 2000, Živčáková has been a part of the newly established parish Korňa. In 2008 the Bishop of the newly established Žilina diocese, Mons. Tomáš Galis, approved the construction of a church of Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church together with a spiritual retreat and pastoral facility at Živčáková Hill. Živčáková was declared an official Marian Place of Pilgrimage and a place for prayers by decree of the Žilina bishop on 19 October 2008, when the foundation stone was laid. In this place of pilgrimage, approximately 300 metres from the Chapel of Virgin Mary, the Queen of Heaven, there are four water springs allegedly with healing properties. Masses are held in the chapel throughout the year and in spring and in autumn a pilgrimage to Živčáková Hill is held.
