vojtovsky prameň

There are three important natural monuments on the territory of Čadca. The magic stone spheres in Milošová - Megoňky and the Bukov mineral water spring, and the Vojty water springs. Since 2012, an educational trail leads to the three mineral springs.

The hike to the given point starts at the final bus stop Čadca - Vojty. The direction board informs tourists on the distance and duration of walk to the springs (the remotest of them can be reached in about 50 minutes). If you want to spend some time at the springs, count on some more time when planning the trip. Walking in slow pace with breaks, you will need about 5.5 km to get there and back.

From the starting point, you shall turn away from the asphalt road after 250 m. Crossing the footbridge you will climb through the forest terrain and continue for approximately 10 minutes to reach the first spring with a shelter built in 2019 by the Kysuce Tourism Organization. If you hike with children, or you look for a short walk, we recommend visiting only the nearest spring.

You can get back on the same route and can continue following the signs to the second spring. You shall turn left from the asphalt road (follow the yellow post with a green marker) through the terrain damaged by deforestation. At the place where you can see a green sign on the right and a green arrow on the left – you shall continue to the right towards the second spring. The second spring, also called "salt water" is a natural monument. The water "bubbles" which indicates the presence of methane. Unfortunately, even here it is necessary to state that the original wooden seating as well as the shingle roof covering the spring has been deteriorating.

After you return to the intersection, you shall continue up the forest path to the third spring. Walking on the forest road, you shall follow the yellow tourist posts and then go down the logging road to the third spring. The orientation is a bit more difficult (there are no signs on the uprooted trees, but the spring can be seen from the route in the "valley"). The third spring is the least visited one due to its distance from the starting point. There is a small bench to have a rest before you return or continue along the unmarked path connecting to the green marked path at Vojty - Lazy in the direction of Kýčera. Should you go for the second option, we recommend a high-quality tourist map or GPS navigation.

You can watch the shot at this link (minute from 1:25 to 7:27).

Recommendation: As the forest terrain has been devastated by timber production, we recommend biking only to the first spring. The first two springs are relatively passable even by bicycle (you have to push the bike to the first spring). The third spring is only for hiking.

The project has been implemented with the financial participation of the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic. The gazebo and the surroundings of the first Vojty spring were reconstructed in 2020 thanks to the financial resources provided.
