The nature reserve Klokočov rocks bears a few characteristic features such as occurrence of protected species of plants and animals, and a rocky wall of sandstone that hides a geological rarity - stone spheres.
The wall between two and twenty meters high and approximately 300 meters long. When a sphere hatches of the rock, cup-shaped impressions remain in it, which remind of their recent existence in the rock wall. In the territory itself, the 5th i.e., the most rigid level of protection and non-intervention regime apply.
An 850 m long educational trail with an elevation of approximately 200 m winds across the Klokočov rocks nature reserve ceremonially opened on October 31, 2015. The attractions of the Kysuce Protected Landscape Area, its fauna and flora and the unique phenomenon of stone spheres are described in detail on 4 information boards installed on the place. One of the boards is dedicated to stone spheres found in other places of the world, e.g. in Mexico, New Zealand or Australia. However, the latter ones were formed by another geological processes and from different materials than our stone spheres.
The educational trail is suitable for undemanding tourists and families with young children. You can relax on two beautiful wooden benches at the beginning and end of the trail.

This project was implemented with the financial support of the Ekopolis Foundation from the Green Oases 2015 program. The following subjects participated in the restoration of the site: Kysuce Tourism Organization, Klokočov Village, Klokočov Rocks Association (Mr. Marušinec) and Sudopark (Mr. Jakuš). We express our deep appreciation and thanks.
We recommend:
The belltower U Pantokov is named after the settlement where it has been standing since 1937. In the past, it used to ring three times a day - in the morning, at lunch and in the evening, and in case of an exceptional event such as storm, or death in the settlement. The belltower was refurbished and got a new face in 2012 when it was covered with shingles and cleaned of lime coating. The cross was added in 2013. A festive service is always served at the belltower on the last Sunday of August.
Access:
You can find the belltower if you turn left on the main road - at the Rieka bus stop in the direction of Olešná (you would go to Klokočov Rocks on the right). It is less than a kilometre from the road. There is a blue marked path leading there, but you leave it after a few meters (the blue sign turns right) and you continue along the asphalt road until you reach the "end" (orange house), then turn left and right. Finally, there stands the belltower, on the meadow above the settlement.
