Cold winter days expressly ask for good idea of hiking. It is not always sunny you can go hiking at any time, even when it is snowing. Of course, you are expected to consider your strengths and choose something less demanding. The lookout tower near Jantov in Krásno nad Kysucou seems to be the right place for a pleasant winter hike.

CALVARY WITH A LOOKOUT TOWER
The lookout tower can be accessed from several directions. We have chosen the route with a Calvary. The route starts at the parking lot near the railway line and continues along the road through Dielničky.
Auto nechávame na malom parkovisku nad ktorým je malá drevená kaplnka na stĺpiku. Ďalej nás označená cesta navedie smerom do kopca, kde po pár sto metroch začína kalvária. Krížová cesta vedie strmou cestou až na vrch Diel, blízko osady U Jantov, kde je aj náš cieľ. 
We have left the car in a small parking lot below a small wooden chapel on a post. Further on, the marked path leads us uphill, where the first stop of the Calvary appears after a few hundred meters. The Way of the Cross leads up on a steep path to the top of the Diel hill near the settlement of U Jantov.
Slowly coming to the top, we could see the lookout tower with stone foundations gradually emerging from behind the trees. From its height of 25 meters, it offers beautiful views of the surrounding hills and of the town Krásno nad Kysucou stretching below the hill.
We were not very lucky with the views today. But at least, we have the motivation to visit this place again. Nearby the lookout tower, there is a tourist shelter where you can have a short rest.
If you feel charmed by the local landscape, you can continue through the meadow to reach the picturesque settlement of U Jantov.
