Kysuce is a location for each of us. Whether in summer or winter, there is always enough fun to have. Right now, during the winter season, you can experience the charm of the Bystrica valley in other ways than on two wheels.

The well-groomed surface of the Bystrica trail is ideal for recreational cross-country skiers who can test their physical shape on the nearly 16 km long cross-country skiing trail.
Supposing that the snow conditions are fine, the whole trail is groomed by a two-track scooter with a paver. The maintenance of the trail is provided by the Malá Fatra Regional Organization of Tourism.
The trail starts in Krásno nad Kysucou. If you have some time, be sure to pop in the Geogaphy Museum with a life-size replica of a mammoth. After a few meters on cross-country skis, you will pass under the bridge, which is probably one of the largest still-preserved reinforced concrete bridges in Central Europe dating back to the early 1890s. You can make another stop in Zborov nad Bystricou. The local church with 40 stained glass windows by the well-known academic painter Vincent Hložník ranks among the significant places of interest in Kysuce.
After a relatively long part of the trail, you will reach another resting point in Stará Bystrica. The village is known primarily for the Slovak Astronomical Clock, the unique building that must impress each tourist coming here. Your day with Nordic skiing can come to an end in Nová Bystrica. Cross-country skiing around the water reservoir in Nová Bystrica is possible as well, but this trail is no longer maintained.
