Two cross-country skiing circuits have been groomed in the village - Kelčovské lúky and Liesková. You can also complete the Kelčovské lúka circuit in the evening with a headlamp.
On February 6, 2023, the following routes were groomed:
1.) Cross-county skiing circuit - Liesková
You can find it above the village centre. It starts immediately behind the railway crossing on the road to Vrchrieka and continues towards the centre as far as "Zimná voda". The circuit, which has been extended recently, has a straight profile with slight ascends and descends.
2.) Cross-country skiing circuit - Kelčovské meadows
You can find this circuit in the local part of Nižný Kelčov. The 1.4km long circuit runs on the flat terrain of the Kelčov meadows. If you come by car, please park in the paved area in front of the bus stop in the direction of Vyšný Kelčov. You can also complete the route in the evening with a headlamp.

Cross-country skiing circuit - KELČOV MEADOWS
On Monday, January 31, 2022, the favourable weather conditions and new fresh snow allowed us to create the first of the planned cross-country circuits - KELČOV MEADOWS in the village of Vysoká nad Kysucou. This 1.6 km long circuit runs on the plain in the local part of Nižný Kelčov. If you come by car, please park in the paved area in front of the bus stop in the direction of Vyšný Kelčov. And the most important thing - you can complete the circuit even in the evening with a headlamp.
Cross-country skiing circuit – LIESKOVÁ
On Tuesday, February 1, 2022, we managed to fix the longest and the most difficult cross-country circuit - LIESKOVÁ, above the centre of our village. This year, the circuit has been extended as far as Vrchrieka over Nová kolónia to Zimná voda! It took almost 3 hours to groom the whole trail! If you dare, you should give it a try.
