World War I cost the village of Skalité 52 lives. The list of victims is given on the Monument built by the municipality from the citizens' donations.
The monument was unveiled on 28 October 1931 during the celebration of the anniversary of the declaration of the 1st Czecho-Slovak Republic. It is placed in the centre of Skalité near the Church, in front of the entrance to the staircase right next to the Church walls.
