Kysucke muzeumThe Kysuce Museum in Čadca administers five expositions that offer a wide portfolio of cultural and historical aspects related to the Kysuce region. 

Exhibitions of the Kysuce Museum in Čadca:

  • Open air museum in Vychylovka - permanent ethnographic open -air exhibition in Nová Bystrica - Vychylovka,
  • Historic forest headland railway - museum railway in Nová Bystrica - Vychylovka,
  • The Radoľa Manor - one of the oldest historical buildings in Kysuce, that represents a Renaissance type of a manor house,
  • Folklore Museum in Krásno nad Kysucou - presents the fauna and flora of north-western Slovakia, a life-size replica of a female mammoth is worth mentioning as the most attractive exhibit there.

The Kysuce Museum also includes:

  • Department of History of Science and Technology - focuses on researching the development of science and technology in the context of the regional history of Kysuce,
  • Documentation Centre of Forest Railways in Slovakia - a specialized centre at the Kysuce Museum, which is entrusted with the comprehensive documentation of the development of forest narrow-gauge railways on a national scale.

Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday: closed
Sunday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Last admission to the tour at 3:30 p.m.

Entrance fee:

Ticket for adults EUR 2.00
Ticket for children, students, pensioners and the disabled - EUR 1.00
