The Chapel can be found in the stellement of U Cabukov in the Municipality of Zákopčie in the highlands above the Rulcov valley. It was designed by a professional wood carver Stanislav Maléř who intended to build a completely new chapel and thus faced a huge challenge.
Inspired by his deeply personal relationship with the settlement, the author put a great emphasis on its overall appearance, and many refer to it as a building from a fairy tale. The Chapel has a truly unique design combining traditional elements and expressive colours that give the building its special character.
It was built by local cottage owners. The inspiration came from the Slovak architect Dušan Jurkovič, Pustevny in Wallachia and other chapels. The construction was completed in November 2020. In September 2021, it was also consecrated together with the bell bearing the name of the patron of the Chapel, St. Joseph. The Chapel contributed to the attractiveness of the village which has become a nice goal of many trips.
