As recorded in the parish chronicle, an initiative to build a chapel near Rulcov was presented as early as in 1947. Over the course of four years, it was slowly acquiring its form until its final completion and consecration to the Veneration of the Divine Heart.
The turning point came in 2005 when the chapel in Zákopčie was given a new status and became a place of regular worship for people from the surrounding valleys coming to pray to the Savior in the Sacrament of the Altar.
