Blažkov Stone Bridge is the largest all-stone bridge in Slovakia built in 1835 by Italian builders.
The stone bridge is located at the entrance to Krásno from Kysucké Nové Mesto on the upper road, or from the town in the direction of Blažkov at the turnoff to Nižná Vana. Very few people know about this unique monument which still serves road traffic and residents of this part of the town.
The bridge itself is very inconspicuous and even unnoticeable for drivers passing on it. If you want to see it, you will have to go down the steep slope to the Drozdovský stream. You will be astonished by its dimensions (10 m high, 53.4 m long), its majesty and the skill of the masters of that time. The bridge ranks among the largest all-stone bridges in Slovakia.
Be sure to have a look at the: Reinforced concrete bridge over the Bystrica river.
The bridge built in 1891 by the Company Wayss is the oldest reinforced concrete bridge in Central Europe. There is the statue of Ján Nepomucký (John of Nepomuk) on the bridge.
