The Regional Library in Čadca is one of the most important cultural institutes in the entire region. Its activities are based on the activities of the former municipal library in Čadca, which was established by the decision of the municipal council on June 10, 1924.
Since that time, the library has undergone many changes including a significant improvement of comfort for readers in recent years. The interior and exterior spaces were modernized, a toy library for children was established, the art library and the phono library for music lovers were restored. In 2017, a summer reading room with a covered podium, chairs, tables and umbrellas was opened, thus expanding the library's attractive learning and relaxation space for the entire reading public.
Currently, the library mediates information through the latest information and communication technologies. It is considered to be a cultural, educational, information and social centre of Čadca, and the entire Kysuce region.
