A new leisure area with a gazebo has been built in the former ski resort Skalité - Serafínov (Slovak-Polish border). The gazebo is intended to provide rest and relax to visitors and residents who can prepare a simple meal on a built-in fireplace. Multifunctional playground near the gazebo is a fine place for the young ones. In its vicinity, there is a restored bunker from WW II.
This bunker, together with the new leisure area, was open in September 2021. The bunker itself is a symbolical reminder of the Second World War and its direct impact on the village of Skalité. The reasons for building the bunkers, their construction, the events of the war and the impact on everyday war life of the local population can be found on the information boards nearby. The information on the layout system of trenches and concrete machine gun nests built on Serafínov, together with their drawing on the map are at visitors´ disposal as well.
