The settlement U Králi is the final stop of public transport to Čadečka. The place is unique by its position in the middle of the hills which are divided by the Čadečanka river valley while its left-hand tributary flows into the Čadečanka river precisely at the point U Králi.
The surrounding highlands are a part of Kysucké Beskydy, a subdivision of the Javorské Beskydy, which rise from the settlement through a system of mountain ridges to the peaks of Liesková (850 m) and Javorské (860 m). The Church of the Divine Heart of Jesus, built in 1988, is the dominant feature of the settlement (in the square). It is one of the few churches built in the gloomy period of religious prosecution when the church construction was limited in every possible way. Milan Kavor, the dean of the parish of Čadca at the time, was responsible for its construction.
If you visit the location, you will find several trees of local importance - old lime trees and a natural environment of ultimate beauty. The characteristic silhouette of the hill of Javorské rising above the settlement separates Čadca from Oščadnica and Skalité. Museum called “Pohostinstvo” is an ideal starting point for cycling in this part of Čadca.
If you take a mountain bike, you can get on top of the hills towards Drahošanka, Bukov or Javorské to Oščadnica. In winter, you can enjoy cross-country skiing on a circuit called “Kráľovský”, which is regularly maintained by the locals.
