The Kysuce region is deeply connected to the faith of its local inhabitants, which is manifested not only in the form of churches and chapels but also in wayside crosses and passion monuments. These are scattered wherever the footsteps of ordinary people once led, with heartfelt prayers, requests, or gratitude on their lips.
"In 2024, the Kysuce Tourism Organization compiled a comprehensive overview of all sacred monuments in Vysoká nad Kysucou, including 2 churches, 7 chapels, 20 crosses, 11 passion monuments, and other related sites. The text was authored by historian Mgr. Drahomír Velička from the State Archive in Žilina, based in Bytča, at the Čadca Archive. We thank Mgr. Štefan Strýčko for the photographs.
The project was implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Slovak Republic and the Regional Tourism Organization, Žilinský turistický kraj."
