The settlement lies in the saddle between Javorské and Liesková hills. It includes several cottages with red roofs and wooden fences in the middle of meadows and pastures full of grazing sheep.
The charm of this place is somewhat spoiled only by developer activities. We recommend parking your car at the bus stop Rovne, about 2 km from Beskydok. On the ascent from Rovne, the views of the surroundings dominated by Veľká Rača will catch your eye.
On the way up the hill, on the left, there is a nicely renovated chapel. The original one, built around 1933-1936, was destroyed in a landslide in the 1960s. In 1982, it was restored by the parishioners and has recently been renovated again. Beskydok is located on the cycling route 2408 suitable for mountain bikes, and on the red marked tourist path heading from Čadca through Javorské to Skalité.
From the hill Javorské (after which the village was briefly called Podjavorské), two kilometers from Beskydyk, there are almost circular views of the surroundings with a beautiful panorama of Mala Fatra. We recommend a nice hiking circuit, also cycling on dry days, through forests and meadows: Rovne, ZŠ – Beskydok – Za Liesková – Švancarovci (on the green) – Rovne, ZŠ (by road).
