A year later, he built the first brick house which was the beginning of the local history. In 1962, electric lines were assembled, and the settlement was connected to the electric network, which was a significant event for its residents. Each family had been assigned the number of pits to dig in order to erect the electric poles. Since all male residents were working outside Kysuce on a weekly basis, it was not uncommon for women with grown children to dig the pits. In fact, the history of this settlement is mainly related to the project of a tourist centre, which was an ambitious plan to develop one of the most important and most complex tourist areas in Slovakia. Eventually, only a minor part of the project could be implemented.

One of the parts of the project consisted in building a Ski Centre with a ski lift. The ski lift and its bottom station in the hut Three Hills serving as an engine room, cafeteria and facilities for staff was completed in 1967. The 1,000 m long ski lift started at the hut Three Hills and ended a short distance above the Hotel Husárik towering on the hill as a symbol of the past glory of this resort. Three slopes that were built gradually could soon rank among the best ones in Slovakia, as evidenced by the organization of national giant slalom and downhill races in 1975.

An ice toboggan was built about 300 m below the Hotel Husárik. With its length of 1,350 m, it was the best one in Slovakia at the time. The entire track and banked turns were made of wood. Its maintenance was regularly provided by temporary workers, especially students from the secondary grammar school in Čadca. Regional competitions were held annually, but generally, the toboggan was mainly used for trainings of talented riders, future champions of Slovakia successful in European competitions. During Slovakia's bid to host the Olympic Games in 1984 (the federal government ultimately withdrew the bid) and later in 2002, Čadca was being considered as the organizer of sledding competitions. It was literally the last chance to save the slowly deteriorating toboggan, but sadly nothing was done and just a torso of the construction has remained till these days. The generous project of the entire skiing area around the Hotel Husárik and three ski jumps in the village of Kýčera remained only an ambitious vision that never came true.

Kysuce – Orava – Kysuce Cycling race involved the village U Husárikov into its profile, either as a part of a regular stage or as an individual time trial. Although the track measured only 7 km, it was one of the most demanding ones in Slovakia. Due to its extremely steep sections many competitors reached the finish line walking next to their bikes. Hotel Husárik was built in the years 1970-1972 as a winter sports centre, but it served all year-round to welcome the guests from Čadca and the entire Kysuce region.

After the Velvet revolution, the hotel gradually fell into oblivion until it was completely closed. In the years 1998-2000, it was badly damaged by water and frost, therefore the town of Čadca decided to sell the hotel to private owners. In 2001, it was purchased by a private company which realized an extensive and comprehensive refurbishment and thus turned the deserted building into a four-star mountain hotel being a trademark of the town of Čadca again.

In addition to standard services, the Hotel disposes of a wellness centre, e-bike rental services, and is the starting point of stunning hiking and cycling routes. It is a part of the Javorníky cycling and cross-country skiing route with groomed tracks. The trips all around are recommended to the residents of Čadca and to all hiking enthusiasts from all over Slovakia. Finally, it must be mentioned that all activities related to the establishment of the Husárik winter sports centre were organized through the organisation called Lokomotiva Čadca. The leader and the most important person involved in the planning and construction of all these projects was Mr Milan Toman, 93 years old today.
