The settlement U Jantov in the middle of the Javorníky highlands has a rich history and is sought after cottage keepers. The settlement gathers original wooden houses, residential houses, and farm buildings.
The attractiveness of the place and the number of visitors of this settlement will undoubtedly be increased by the completion of the new objects: the lookout tower on Holý diel hill above the hamlet U Jantov (completed in August 2020) and the calvary leading from Krásno to the railway station (completed in September 2020). The projects of both buildings, as well as the sculptures in the Calvary, were designed by Stanislav Mikovčák.
The lookout tower erected on the stone foundations to the height of 25 meters opens up stunning views of the surrounding hills and of the town of Krásno nad Kysucou spread out right below the hill. The original calvary leading through the mountain road consists of 14 brick chapels, with a mounted metal sculpture inside each chapel. The construction of a calvary in this place roots in an idea that has been maturing for several years. The building itself, its construction and opening took place in 2020 which was the year out of the ordinary for all of us, struggling with the global pandemic.
