osada hlinene turzovkaOne of the settlements of the Turzovka county, Hlinené, is located below the peak of Hlinené in the local part with the same name. It is a typical settlement reminiscent of Wallachian settlement in the history of our region.

The locations such as Predmier (Turzovka), Hlinené or Nová Dedina (Podvysoká), Dlhá, Vrch Olešná, etc. were already mentioned in documents from the 16th century. You can get there from the local part of Hlinené, the terminal bus stop (there is a chapel nearby). The settlement and its beautiful environment are related to the legends of Uhorčík, a companion of the national hero Juraj Jánošík, who was born in Turzovka.

The settlement of Hlinené, along with the highland hamlets of Turzovka are the site of the traditional "Uhorčík´s Path" – a hiking event held as one of the events of the Beskydy Festival. The settlements are also well-known to mushroom and berry pickers.
